Devotion:
We say a lot of things during the course of the
day. Conversations with family, friends, and spending time co-workers
contributes to many hours of listening and talking. But have you
noticed that from all the great things we say and hear they rarely
translates into good actions. If we are to live seriously then our
serious talks should turn into actions. Talking is cheap. It always
has and it always will be. An example of this comes from the movies
we see. What is your favorite movie of all times? These movies are
inspirational, I swear that I will live better, do better and love
better. But guess what—as soon as I walk out of the theater
I forget what I had set out to do. My thoughts and words were mere
talk. But if you can back-up your words with actions then your words
have power. The bible tells us that we have deceived ourselves or
lied to ourselves if we don’t live to our words. What good
is a $12 inspirational movie, if we just come out the same as when
we went it without improving ourselves? Learn to live with action.
But
be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
James 1:22
